The Albemarle Foundation
Focused on producing eco-friendly and fire retardant chemicals, the Albemarle Foundation supports sustainability through the Albemalre Foundation. Albemarle encourages our employees to contribute time and resources to the Albemarle Foundation. The company then matches 100 percent of the employees’ donations. In 2007, the Albemarle Foundation was created to focus company and employee efforts on programs that support the cornerstones of sustainability within the communities where we live and work – particularly in the areas of education, health and social services, cultural initiatives and community involvement. The Foundation was introduced successfully in Baton Rouge, LA in 2007, Orangeburg, SC in 2009 and will be rolled out to all U.S. locations.
Albemarle has also been recognized by local communities for work with disabled individuals (Orange hats in Orangeburg), environmental awareness (home materials recycling programs at South Haven, MI; Orangeburg, SC; and Baton Rouge tower) and volunteerism (LLN with the United Fund, Baton Rouge, LA with Habitat for Humanity).
